Covered Tobacco Bowl

Dutch, c.1730

Oak, brass. Striking bowl and cover, probably for tobacco originally, but now for cookies, rose petals or whatever. The finial will catch your eye wherever you put the bowl. Re-lacquered -- the interior was lacquered to prevent the wood from absorbing the moisture in the tobacco. It'll now do the same for your cookies. Good condition, later red lacquer inside, no restoration.

Bowl 9" diam, 5" h. Finial 4-3/4" h.
