Delftware Wine Jug

Frankfurt, 1725-50

Tin-glazed earthenware, pewter. Lovely free hand painting in cobalt on a manganese ground. Economically painted village scene with church, trees and birds -- we bet she did that in 60 seconds or less. Pewter lid and foot rim. The lid with grapes and vine leaves -- we told you it was a wine jug. A nice thing to own, display and use. Good original condition, no restoration or significant losses.

9-1/4" h (to thumbpiece), 4-1/2" diam.
