Three-Legged Skillet

English, 16th/17th c.

Bronze. Extremely rare. Slightly flared pan standing on decorated feet. From the collection of Frank Cowan, who rated it as the "most special" bronze vessel he had ever owned. It is an undocumented form, but guaranteed authentic. (Our price is less than a third of what Frank paid for it in 1980.) Original condition, casting faults in handle socket, wooden handle lost.

11" diam., 5" h.
