Child's Staved Mug

Scottish, c.1775

Oak, silver, willow. Possibly a christening gift that saw many years of subsequent use. Beautifully coopered, with very fine willow bands at top and bottom. The handle is carved from a piece of darker oak that is set into the mug like a stave. Exquisite workmanship throughout. Silver rim worn, otherside good condition, no restoration.

3-3/4" h, 3" diam base.
