Delft Tile Picture

Dutch, 1750-75

Tin-glazed earthenware. What a charmer -- a cat with a mouse in its mouth and another scurrying across the floor, all painted in manganese. Six 6-inch square tiles, mortared together and mounted in a modern frame -- all ready to hang. Prov: from a meticulously curated private New England collection. Minor frittering, no restoration.

Tiles 5-1/4" sq., overall 17" x 11-1/2"
