Two-Handled Serving Jug

English, 1575-1625

Bronze. There aren't many small, two-handled jugs out there. This one has a round bottom showing that it was intended to be hung when not in use keeping drinkers' pots or glasses topped up. Used in a tavern or a manor house? Who knows or cares. It's a good looking thing with lots of character, and it stands steadily despite its rounded bottom. Good condition, no repairs or restoration.

5" diam., 4-1/4" h.
