Pastry Jigger

Italian, late 16th c.

Bronze. An exceptionally early pastry jigger whose form has hardly changed in 300+ years. Scimitar-shaped blade for trimming, wheel for decorating and a rooster's crest just to give it a boost -- hence the collectors' name "Coq" for this design. Very good original condition.

4-1/2" l.
