Tudor Boarded Stool

English, 16th c.

Elm. A strong candidate for the title of the "best stool we have ever owned." A Tudor stool with the typically pierced and shaped apron and boarded ends. The well-aged seat (with crack) is secured with six original pegs. Good pit saw marks inside boarded ends. Ogee-molded seat. Pierced and shaped frame. Boarded ends with gothic shaping. Mint condition, no restoration or losses. Old worm holes -- long deceased.
